Starting Monday March 1, 2010 Highway 32, 5 miles east of Madison from Highway 81, will be closed due to the replacement of two bridges.  The highway is expected to be closed until November 15, 2010.

Madison County Deputies assist with efforts at Norfolk fire

Madison County Sheriff's Deputies assisted with the evacuation efforts and traffic control at the propane fire at the Protient plant in Norfolk today. The incident involved a 30,000 gallon propane tank which had caught fire.  read more »

Changes to law focus of training

It’s not yet known how a new sex offender law will affect law enforcement.

Law enforcement officials and others will learn more about the nuances of Legislative Bill 285, passed into law last legislative session, at special training this week.

We're not sure until things are broken down and you start doing the math. But there is potential we could receive more people on lifetime placement,” said Joel Denney, a parole officer who supervises those offenders on lifetime registration.  read more »
