Madison County Deputies assist with efforts at Norfolk fire

Madison County Sheriff's Deputies assisted with the evacuation efforts and traffic control at the propane fire at the Protient plant in Norfolk today. The incident involved a 30,000 gallon propane tank which had caught fire.

Deputies were called to the area shorlty at 7:30am on December 10, 2009 and were dispatched to various locations in and around Norfolk. Deputies were also directly involved in the decision-making process at the incident command post.

The Norfolk Fire Department did an excellent job of managing and ultimately controlling the situation without injury and with minimal property damage.
